Scotia or Beading is a finishing strip that is installed at edge of an installed floor where it meets an upright surface like skirting

The general use of scotia is applied to cover the expansion gap that is left between the hardwood floor and the skirting/upright surface.

Scotia is also known as ‘Beading’, all these type of profiles are classed as Mouldings.
